Low cost airlines to Cape Verde?

The Cape Verde government is preparing details for licensing low cost airlines to fly to the country. The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, made this announcement recently to the National Assembly. The hope is that low cost airlines will be encouraged to start routes to the country. If this comes about, it could open up a lot of options for visitors. Also, it might be that existing airlines are prompted to reduce their fares. Competition between airlines will be good for visitors in the long term. Most flights into Cape Verde are currently to Sal, followed by Boa Vista. Santiago (Praia) has few international routes and São Vicente has the least of all the four international airports. TUI currently flies to Sal and Boa Vista.
