Maio island is one of the easternmost islands in Cape Verde. Vila do Maio (Porto Inglês) is the main town and is located on the south west corner of the island. This makes it a great place to watch the sunset over the neighbouring island of Santiago. This picture was taken from Forte de São José, but similar views are available from the main beach front and also from Stella Maris.
