Cape Verde travel update

Today (10 July 2020), the Prime Minister has announced a Cape Verde travel update. Internal passenger travel will recommence on Wednesday 15 July. This will include both flights and ferries between all of the islands. There will be enhanced Covid-19 precautions in place, which will include the requirement to wear a face mask, taking passengers’ temperature and the completion of a hygiene and health questionnaire. All ports, airports and operators will be required to comply with strict health procedures.

Currently the islands of Sal and Santiago are experiencing higher rates of transmission and so for passengers leaving those two islands there will be an additional requirement to present a Covid-19 negative test result, for a test carried out within the previous 72 hours. Tests can be carried out at all medical facilities on both islands.

There has not yet been an international travel update for Cape Verde. This will be reviewed when the time is considered appropriate.
