The Times promotes Cape Verde

The travel section of the UK newspaper The Times has included Cape Verde in a short list of what it calls ‘winter sun strongholds’. Times Travel features a list of countries that are ‘looking most affordable’ for 2022.

The article includes reliable sunshine, direct flights from the UK and being within a similar time zone, as some of the positive factors. In addition whale-watching and quad bike tours are listed as attractions. Oddly, the article doesn’t specifically mention the beaches, which are, of course, one of the main features of this country. Although The Times article is aimed at UK readers, these attractive features apply to most of Europe too. In terms of cost, the exchange rate is currently favourable for British tourists.

So, if you are looking to escape from the cold, wet or snowy Europe, why not try Cape Verde? Many people are hooked on this lovely country after one visit. There are direct flights to Sal and Boa Vista, but using the internal flights or ferries gives you the ability to visit some of the other islands. There is such variety from sandy desert islands with lovely beaches to rugged mountainous islands and with exhilarating hiking trails.
